I began this project by searching on photobucket.com for a theme to inspire me with an idea. I collected images from this website and thought of what pictures would work well together. I started with one of the pictures I liked and made it the middle picture. I added another image on top of the original and used a blending technique to layer them and add the colourful sky. On top of those two pictures I blended the girl into it. I burned the edges of the whole image and then started on the top picture. For the top picture I had the original image of just a camera then I added in a whole new picture for the background. I used the stamp tool to paint in the girl and the light post. I burned the edges again. Finally, for the bottom picture I started off with the picture of the merry-go-round, and blended the sky picture with a different option for the background. I used the stamp tool to paint the fence at the bottom from the middle picture, as well as the light post. For the last step, I put a small border around the entire image with the retangular marqee tool and filled it with black.
The theme for this project wasn't really planned out from the beginning. I slowly started working with different images and blending them together to see which ones I liked best. Most of the pictures I collected were that of a retro or vintage style. I liked the way they looked older and more characteristc. The yellow and pink sky made the series of images feel much warmer. The type of pictures I found caught my eye and led me to make this project come together.
